Dentists
Mr Donald McIntosh BDS graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1976 and worked in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada before returning to general dental practice in Edinburgh and then Nairn. He moved to Aberdeen in 1981 and worked in practices in George Street and Bucksburn before aquiring the Rubislaw Terrace Practice in 1994. At that time, Rubislaw Terrace was run as a single handed practice but has grown to two dentists in partnership, one associate, two hygienists and two visiting specialists. Donald is interested in all aspects of dentistry, particularly cosmetic dentistry and continues to learn through ongoing postgraduate education. Outwith dentistry he enjoys playing golf and travelling.
Mr Steve Bonsor BDS(Hons) MSc FHEA graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1992 with Honours and was awarded a distinction in Conservative and Prosthetic Dentistry and the Hepburn Prize for the best Senior Student in Dental Hospital Practice. In 1997, he gained a DPDS from the University of Bristol and graduated with an MSc in 2008 from the same institution. He has worked in the practice since 1996, becoming a partner in the business in 2000. He held a part-time clinical teaching post at Dundee Dental Hospital and School in the Sections of Operative Dentistry, Fixed Prosthodontics, Endodontology and Integrated Oral Care and was an Honorary Clinical Teacher at the University of Dundee for over nine years. In 2001, he was admitted as a member to the Institute of Learning and Teaching, now the Higher Education Academy. He is heavily involved in postgraduate dental education having lectured throughout the UK. His dental interests include all branches of restorative dentistry, especially applied dental materials science and endodontology. He is actively involved in research having published in peer reviewed journals and is currently writing an undergraduate textbook on applied dental materials science with another colleague. Out with dentistry, he enjoys football, food, cookery and wine and is currently trying to learn Italian.
